Among other projects, we were responsible for the concept and design of the annual reports for Policy Management Systems Corporation (PMSC), a NYSE-traded public company and leading supplier of application software, information technology, and business process outsourcing and to the global insurance industry, from 1994-2000.

In 1996, we used PMSC’s unique history of having originated within the same insurance company that had invented the hanging file folder, to inform the theme and design of the annual report, and used simple visual metaphors to help explain the company’s complex business. Going beyond simply reporting the financial performance of the last year to shareholders and clients, the annual report also illustrated the company’s ongoing legacy of innovation. PMSC’s 1996 annual report was selected for inclusion in the prestigious AR100, honoring of the best 100 annual reports in the world, and its design was recognized by numerous other international organizations, including the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Communication Arts, NY Art Director’s Club and the Type Director’s Club.
